LANA DEL REY FOR H&M
Yep, you read it right! Lana Del Rey has landed her first global modeling campaign as the international face for H&M. Donald Schneider, H&M’s creative director said the photo shoot (by Inez & Vinoodh) was “inspired by our fall collection,” adding “The mood is very L.A. noir.” Del Rey has also recorded a cover of the 1950’s song Blue Velvet for a short film to be released on September 19 via hm.com, which will then be edited to become H&M television commercials. Can’t fucking wait, but in the meantime…

My hilarious pal Dave Shumka put together an amazing slideshow of ugly shoes designed by musicians for the CBC Music blog. Included are a pair of Kanye West shoes that apparently were designed to make a lady look like a tauntaun, a pair of weirdly salmon-colored shoes by Bon Iver, and a pair by Carlos Santana that is remarkable only in that it is very confusing that Carlos Santana has a women’s shoe line.
